Church Road (D6805) Surbiton (One-way Traffic) Order 2021
On 27 July 2021 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Order under Sections 1 and 2 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will come into force on 31 July 2021. The effect of which is that all vehicles proceeding in that length of Church Road (D6805) Surbiton as extends from its junction with Rectory Lane eastwards and north of the grassed island site into the main section of Church Road (a distance of 23 metres) (otherwise known as Rectory Lane) shall do so only in an easterly direction. The above restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency; or in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of Surrey Police; or to any road cleansing vehicles being used only between 5.30am and 7.00am on any day of the week.
A copy of the Order, together with a plan showing the length of road to which the Order relates and a Statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order, may be examined free of charge at (1) Dittons Library, Mercer Close, Thames Ditton, Surrey KT7 OBS, during normal opening hours; and (2) Surrey Highways, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey GU4 7BQ, between 9.30am and 4.30pm. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with, in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
