M25 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 20) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the M25 Motorway in the County of Hertfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to:-
1. authorise the overnight closure of all the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 Junction 20 (A41).
2. impose a 50mph speed limit on-(a)the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between a point 500 metres south and the entry slip road at Junction 20 (A41); and (b)the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 between a point 500 metres north and the entry slip road at Junction 20 (A41).
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors working on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council undertake carriageway, maintenance and all associated works on the roundabout. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 9 days starting on or after Monday 2nd August 2021. The overnight closures will take place between 22:00 and 05:00 (maximum period). The Order will come into force on 31 st July 2021 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted via other junctions of the M25 or by using the M1, A41, A405, A414 and the A4251. The diversion route will vary depending on the closure in force.
The temporary closures, speed limit and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
