The Church Commissioners have prepared an amended draft Pastoral Church Buildings Scheme for the church of St John the Evangelist, being one of the two parish churches of the parish of Bemerton in the diocese of Salisbury, to be declared closed for regular public worship, and for the building and part of its annexed land to be leased by the Salisbury Diocesan Board of Finance for educational, social, cultural and community purposes and for worship, services and other religious activities in accordance with the rites and customs of the Church of England, and for purposes ancillary to those uses. A copy of the amended draft Scheme may be inspected at the church of St John the Evangelist, Bemerton. You may also access the amended draft Scheme on the Commissioners' website at www.ccpastoral.org/consultation or obtain or inspect a copy during normal office hours by applying to the Commissioners. You may make representations either for or against all or any part of the amended draft Scheme in writing to Rex Andrew, Pastoral Division, Church Commissioners, Church House, Great Smith Street, London, SW1P 3AZ or by email to rex.andrew@churchofengland.org to reach him not later than 2 June 2014.
