NORTH CORNER COVERACK COMMON
Notice ID: BOU2125057NORTH CORNER COVERACK COMMON Cornwall Council has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on North Corner Coverack Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State. The proposed works are: The proposed development is located at North Corner Cliff, Coverack, Cornwall, and includes the construction works to install a new 87m section of coastal defence along the existing cliff line, which forms the eastern boundary of the common land. The coastal defence will occupy an approximate area of 8600sqm and is split in two distinct sections; a 56m retaining wall on top of a rock revetment in the south, and a full rock armour revetment slope for the remainder in the north. At the southern end of the common land a new post and rail balustrade will be provided along the new concrete retaining wall, providing a new boundary treatment along the edge of the common land. It will be 1.2m in height and 75m in length. At the northern end of the common land the existing timber post and rail fence will be reinstated. It will be 1.2m in height and 35m in length. During the construction period the common land will be required as part of the site to facilitate the construction of the project for six to nine months. It will be used for the laydown and storage of materials as part of the temporary works programme.
