THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (MALTON BYPASS) [TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited Intends to make an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable safety barrier renewal, sign installation and routine maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start at 8pm on Monday 12 July 2021 for 8 weeks, or until completed and will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am. The effect of the Order will be to impose, 24 hours a day, at times during the works, a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A64:

The effect of the Order will be to impose, 24 hours a day, at times during the works, a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A64:
(i) eastbound carriageway from 65 metres east of the exit slip at Musley Bank Junction to 2450 metres east of the exit slip road at Musley Bank Junction, a distance of 2385 metres;
(ii) westbound carriageway from 1350 metres west of the exit slip road at Pickering Interchange to 4800 metres west of the exit slip road at Pickering Interchange, a distance of 3450 metres;
(iii) eastbound carriageway from 700 metres west of the exit slip road at Pickering Interchange to 2630 metres east of the exit slip road at Pickering Interchange, a distance of 3330 metres;
(iv) westbound carriageway from 600 metres east of the exit slip road at Brambling Fields Junction to 480 metres west of the exit slip road at Brambling Fields Junction, a distance of 1080 metres;
It will be necessary, to close, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, the A64:
(i) A64 eastbound carriageway from the nose of the exit slip road at Musley Bank Junction to the nose of the entry slip road at Pickering Interchange, a distance of 5280 metres;
(ii) A64 eastbound carriageway from the nose of the exit slip road at Musley Bank Junction to the nose of the entry slip road at Brambling Fields Junction, a distance of 7310 metres;
(iii) westbound carriageway from the nose of the exit slip road at Brambling Fields to the nose of the eastbound carriageway entry slip road at Musley Bank Junction, a distance of 6950 metres;
(iv) westbound carriageway from the nose of the exit slip road at Pickering Interchange to the nose of the eastbound carriageway entry slip road at Musley Bank, a distance of 5060 metres;
(v) eastbound carriageway from the nose of the exit slip road at Brambling Fields to the nose of the entry slip road at Brambling Fields, a distance of 720 metres;
(vi) westbound carriageway from the exit slip road at brambling Fields to the nose of the entry slip road at Brambling Fields, a distance of 550 metres;
(vii) eastbound and westbound exit and entry slip roads at Pickering Interchange; and
(viii) eastbound exit and westbound entry slip roads at Brambling Fields Junction.
It will also be necessary to close, for the duration of the works, the laybys adjacent to the A64:
(ix) eastbound carriageway from 475 metres east of Braygate Street overbridge;
(x) eastbound carriageway from 695 metres east of Boughton Road overbridge;
(xi) westbound carriageway from 640 metres west of Borough Mere Lane overbridge; and
(xii) westbound carriageway from 355 metres west of Braygate Street overbridge.
During the closures suitable signed alternative routes will be available at all times. Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works.
