THE A12 TRUNK ROAD (JUNCTION 30 STRATFORD ST MARY, SUFFOLK TO JUNCTION 27 SPRING LANE INTERCHANGE, COLCHESTER, ESSEX) SOUTHBOUND (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited(a) has made an Order on the A12 Trunk Road in Suffolk and Essex to enable carriageway surveys and general routine maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place over 3 weeks (8pm-6am) starting on or after Monday 21 June 2021.
For the purpose of this notice, the interchanges at A12/A133 Junction 27 Spring Lane, A12 Junction 28 Severalls, A12/A120/A1232 Junction 29 Crown, A12/B1029 Junction 30 Stratford St Mary and A12/A14 Copdock Mill shall be referred to respectively as J27, J28, J29, J30 and J33.
1. The effect of the Order will be to close, in phases the A12 southbound -

? carriageway at various locations between the exit slip road at J30 and the entry slip road at J27,

? entry slip road leading from the B1029 at J30,

? exit slip roads to and entry slip roads from Birchwood Road, Dedham, and J28, and

? exit slip road leading to Old Ipswich Road, Ardleigh.

2. Diversions for closures between -

? J30 and J29 - exit the A12 at J33 then via the A14 to Junction 56 Wherstead Interchange, then A137, A1232 to re-join the A12 at J29, and

? J29 and J27 - exit the A12 at J29 then via the A1232 and A133 and A134 to re-join theA12atJ27.

The closures (which will not apply to works, emergency service or traffic officer vehicles) and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
The Order will come into force on 14 June 2021 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
