Power Networks has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Danbury Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State. The proposed works are: to install high voltage underground cables along the public highway to connect into the existing network along the routes shown on the attached plans. Working widths of 3 meters along cable routes marked on the attached plan, which total approximately 270 meters, will be required during installation of the cables. The trenches will be backfilled and reinstated once the cables have been installed. Working areas will be fenced off for safety with all fencing to be removed on completion of the works. Opening hours are: Wednesday 2pm 7pm, Thursday 9am to 1pm and Saturday 9am 5pm.
