TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 6th day of May 2021 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6) & (7). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (8), (9), (10) and (11).
(1) MELBOURNE STREET. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in those lengths of road on Melbourne Street, York (closed road) during the period when footpath resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 24th day of May 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 18th day of June 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibition.
(2) PENNINE CLOSE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in those lengths of road on Pennine Close, York between its junction with Cleveland Terrace and a location approximately 90 metres North West of said junction where Pennine Close meets Mill Hill Drive (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 24th day of May 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibition.
(3) HAMBLETON TERRACE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in those lengths of road on Hambleton Terrace, York between its junction with Rose Street and a location approximately 45 metres north of said junction (closed road) during the period when road resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 25th day of May 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibition.
(4) HIGHCLIFFE COURT. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in those lengths of road on Highcliffe Court, York (closed road) during the period when road resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs on the 26th day of May 2021 and ending at 1700hrs on the 26th day of May 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibition.
(5) KESTREL WOOD WAY. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in those lengths of road on Kestrel Wood Way, York between the junction with Brockfield Park Drive and a location approximately 28 metres north of said junction (closed road) during the period when road resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 27th day of May 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibition.
(6) EASTHOLME DRIVE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in those lengths of road on Eastholme Drive, York between the junctions with Bowness Drive and Furness Drive (closed road) during the period when road resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 28th day of May 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(7) CHANTRY LANE. BISHOPTHORPE
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding on Chantry Lane, Bishopthorpe (closed road) during the period when flood defence works are being 0001 hrs on the 26th day of May 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 24th day of December 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, pedestrians and vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding in those lengths of footpath on the eastern side of Bishopthorpe Road between Chantry Lane and the entrance to Bishopthorpe Palace (closed footpath) for the duration of the works period. It is expected that for a majority of the works period, the road closure in Chantry Lane will be restricted to the final 20 metres of road in front of The Chantry, however, at times, a closure of the full length of Chantry Lane will be required. Contractors will advise residents of such requirements as soon as possible.
(8) STRAYLANDS GROVE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding in those lengths of road on Eastholme Drive, York Straylands Grove, York between the projected western­most boundary lines of property No's 1 and 7 (closed road) during the period when road resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 1 st day of June 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(9) MARYGATE. YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in (i) that length of footpath connecting Marygate Car Park and the riverside footpaths in front of Earlsborough Terrace between the railway line and No 14 Earlsborough Terrace (ii) that length of riverside footpaths (including Dame Judi Dench Walk) in front of Earlsborough Terrace, York between the western­most boundary of Marygate and No 14 Earlsborough Terrace and (iii) that length of riverside footpath connecting Marygate with Esplanade Court in front of property No's 13-18 Esplanade Court (closed footpaths) during the period when flood defence works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 1st day of June 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 16th day of December 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
Additionally, parking suspensions will be in place on (a) the eastern side of Marygate, York between the riverside footpath and the junction between Hetherton Street and (b) the western side of Marygate between the projected south-western property boundary of Roots York and Hetherton Street, York (restricted road).
(10) ASKHAM LANE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding in those lengths of road on Askham Lane, York between the roundabout controlled junction with the A1237 York Ring Road and a location approximately 160 metres north of said roundabout (closed road) during the period when road resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1900hrs on the 2nd day of June 2021 and ending at 0600hrs on the 3rd day of June 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(11) ATTERWITH LANE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding in those lengths of road on Atterwith Lane, York between two points approximately 290 metres west of the junction with Mill lane and 450 metres east of the junction with Marston Lane (closed road) during the period when road resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on the 3rd day of June 2021 and ending at 0600hrs on the 5th day of June 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
