THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT 1981 COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF LAND IN BRADFORD
The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council made on the 6th May 2021 The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (Thornton Road and Cemetery Road, Bradford) (Highway Junction Improvement Scheme) Compulsory Purchase Order 2021 under the Highways Act 1980. It is about to submit this order to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, and if confirmed the order will authorise The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council to purchase compulsorily the land described below for the purpose of-
(a) the improvement of the highway efficiency of Thornton Road and Cemetery Road, Bradford, being part of the A6177 Outer Ring Road, Bradford for the benefit of all road users;
(b) the improvement or development of frontages to the above mentioned highways or of the land adjoining or adjacent thereto;
(c) use by the Council in connection with the improvement of highways and construction of highways; and
(d) mitigating the adverse effect which the existence or use of the highways proposed to be improved or constructed as mentioned above will have on the surroundings thereof.
Owing to Covid-19 and with due regard to Government public health and hygiene guidance, a copy of the order and of the accompanying map is not available to be inspected at Ihe offices of Ihe Council, City Hall, Centenary Square, Bradford but may be viewed on the Council's scheme web site at-

Any objection to the order must be made in writing to the Secretary of State for Transport, National Transport Casework Team, Department of Transport, Tyneside House, Skinnerbum Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE4 7AR before Friday, the 11th June 2021 and should state the title of the order, the grounds of objection and the objector's address and interests In the land.
In submitting an objection, it should be noted that the personal data and correspondence relating to any objection will be passed to the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council to enable any objection to be considered. If any person does not wish personal data to be forwarded the Council, they should state why when submitting the objection and the Secretary of State will copy the representations, with the name and address removed to the Council and if there is to be a local Public Inquiry the representations will be seen by the Inspector who may give them less weight as a result
