Notice is hereby given that the following applications have been received:

Listed Building Consent is being sought to renew the pointing of the brickwork at the front and rear of the property. Over time, weathering and decay has worn away the original pointing. This has exposed the edges of a large number of bricks and caused voids in some joints between bricks. This has left them susceptible to the entrance of water and has left crevices where water can collect and freeze. Thermal expansion by water entering has caused surfaces of some bricks to peel, pop out, or flake off. Commonly known as spalling this is caused by excess moisture in masonry that exerts pressure outwards. Repointing work to carefully repack the mortar sitting between the bricks will protect them from further damage and preserve an important part of the fabric of this listed building, which is a key aspect of its heritage and character. The pointed finish will be weather-struck and cut, which dates from the 19th century and is true to the period of the property. 2
