THE M62 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 10-11 CROFT INTERCHANGE
AND SLIP ROADS) AND M6 (LINK ROADS)
[TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M62 and M6 Motorways, in the Borough of Warrington, in the County of Cheshire to enable resurfacing works, the installation of new barriers, replacement of bridge joints, and other general maintenance; to be carried out in safety.
(a) The Order will impose a 50 mph speed restriction on the following sections of the M6 Motorway:-

i. the M6 southbound to M62 westbound link road at J21A, from the last point at which it leaves the M6 southbound carriageway at J21 A, to the first point at which it joins the M62 westbound carriageway at J10;

ii. the M6 southbound to M62 eastbound link road at J21A, from the last point at which it leaves the M6 southbound carriageway at J21 A, to the first point at which it joins the M62 eastbound carriageway at J10.

(b) The Order will ban all traffic from the following:

i. the M62 eastbound carriageway, from the last point at which the J10 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point at which the M6 southbound to M62 eastbound link road merges with the M62 eastbound carriageway;

ii. the M62 eastbound carriageway between J10 and J11, from the last point at which the J10 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point at which the J11 entry slip road joins the carriageway;

iii. the M62 westbound carriageway, from the last point at which the J10 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point at which the M6 northbound to M62 westbound link road merges with the M62 westbound carriageway;

iv. the M62 J9 eastbound entry slip road;

v. the M62 J11 eastbound exit slip road;

vi. the M62 eastbound to M6 southbound link road, from the last point at which it leaves the M62 eastbound carriageway at J10, to the first point at which it joins the M6 southbound carriageway at J21 A;

vii. the M62 eastbound to M6 northbound link road, from the last point at which it leaves the M62 eastbound to M6 southbound link road, to the point where it merges with the M62 westbound to M6 northbound link road;

viii. the M62 westbound to M6 southbound link road, from the last point at which it leaves the M62 westbound carriageway at J10, to the first point at which it merges with the M6 southbound carriageway at J21A;

ix. the M62 westbound to M6 northbound link road, from the last point at which it leaves the M62 westbound carriageway at J10, to the first point at which it merges with the M6 northbound carriageway at J21A;

x. the M6 northbound to M62 eastbound link road at J21A;

xi. the M6 southbound to M62 eastbound link road at J21A;

xii. the M6 southbound to M62 westbound link road at J21A;

xiii. the M62 westbound to M6 northbound link road, from the last point at which it leaves the M62 westbound carriageway at J10, to its point of merge with the M62 eastbound to M6 northbound link road;

xiv. the M62 westbound to M6 southbound link road, from where it splits away from the M62 westbound to M6 northbound link road, to the first point at which it joins the M6 southbound carriageway at J21 A.

Restrictions (a) are expected to take place during a continuous period starting at 21:00 hours on Thursday 27 May 2021 and ending at 05:00 hours on Friday 27 August 2021.
Prohibition (b) vii is expected to take place during continuous periods starting at 21:00 on Friday evenings and ending at 05:00 hours on Monday mornings during four consecutive weekends as follows: Friday 2 July to Monday 5 July 2021; Friday 9 July to Monday 12 July 2021; Friday 16 July to Monday 19 July 2021; Friday 23 July to Monday 26 July 2021.
Prohibitions (b) iv-vi and viii-xiv are expected to take place overnight between 20:00 and 05:00 (07:00 on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Monday 14 June 2021 and ending on Monday 25 October 2021.
Prohibitions (b) i-iii are expected to take place overnight between 21:00 hours and 05:00 hours (07:00 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Monday 14 June 2021 and ending on Monday 25 October 2021.
However, works may start and continue during subsequent continuous periods or between the same times on subsequent nights until completed. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M62, M6, and local roads will be well signed.
The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, winter maintenance or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions and restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will, from time to time, be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 26 May 2021 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. For further information please contact
