DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS (AMENDMENT NO.5) ORDER 2021
Notice is hereby given that Darlington Borough Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of the Traffic Management Act 2004. The effect of the Order will be to:
1. amend and increase the lengths of road in Duke Street on which there is a no waiting and no loading/unloading at any time restriction
2. change the existing no waiting at any time restriction in Larchfield Street (both sides, from a point 15 metres north to a point 15 metres south of its junction with Duke Street) to no waiting and no loading/unloading at any time
3. amend the lengths of road in Duke Street on which there is a no waiting at any time restriction and to introduce no waiting at any time in Barnard Street (both sides, from its junction with Duke Street northwards for a distance of 5 metres)
4. amend the length of road in Barnard Street on which there is a no waiting 8am-6pm restriction and to remove the no waiting 8am-6pm restriction from part of Duke Street
5. amend the length of road in Duke Street upon which there are disabled parking places
6. introduce loading bays at all times in part of Duke Street
7. introduce loading bays 8am-6pm Mon-Sat in parts of Barnard Street and Duke Street
8. amend the pay and display parking places in Duke Street and part of Barnard Street
9. introduce one way traffic in Duke Street from its junction with Stanhope Road North eastwards to its junction with Raby Terrace
10. introduce no right or left turn from Larchfield Street into Duke Street; and from Raby Terrace into Duke Street
11. introduce 20mph speed limit for the entire length of Duke Street
The Order will amend the Darlington Borough Council (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading) Consolidation Order 2019; the Darlington Borough Council (On Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2019 and the Darlington Borough Council (Moving Traffic) Consolidation Order 2019.
