(SURFACE DRESSING PROGRAMME 2016 VARIOUS ROADS, COUNTY DURHAM) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE & SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2016
The Council, on 19.05.16 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which temporarily closes/restricts the speed of all vehicular traffic, including pedal cycles, as depicted on site by appropriate road signs, the following:

No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) ofthe Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when usedinaccordancewithregulation3(5)ofthoseRegulations. TheOrderisnecessarytoenable aprogrammeofsurfacedressing works tobeundertaken. Themax. durationofthetemporary closure/speed restriction under the Order is 18 months and is required from 31.05.16 and for the duration of the works which are anticipated to be 13 weeks. Relevant speed restrictions, road closures & alternative routes will be signed to vehicular traffic, where appropriate. However, for operational reasons, on rare occasions, closures may be necessary on dates & times other than those set out above and where this occurs, restrictions, closures and/or diversions will be signed accordingly.
