Temporary Closure of North Square, Chickerell
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along NORTH SQUARE, CHICKERELL for 10metres at either side of its junction with Barr Lane, a distance of approximately 20 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 7 May 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 May 2021. This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to carry out new sewer main and associated apparatus works.
An alternative route will be signed using: North Square - East Street.

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
2. The general effect of the Order will be to introduce and amend existing 'no waiting at any time' restrictions and 'waiting limited to 1 hour returns prohibited within 1 hour, except residents parking' bays on East Street and Mitchell Street, Weymouth.
