Notice ID: MFN0606743
Overnight Temporary Closure of Leigh Road, Wimborne
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.
All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Leigh Road, Wimborne between Parmiter Drive and Gordon Road (in both directions), a distance of approximately 330 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 20:00 and 06:00 on 26th April 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 1st May 2021. The road will be open outside of these times and also over the weekend. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works in relation to the Transforming Cities Fund.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
If you would like further information about the work being undertaken and access arrangements, please call Dorset Highways Improvements TCF Team on 01305 221025, and concerning this Order please call 01305 221020. Find this information online:
