Notice of Revised Charges for Parking Contraventions
Notice ID:Notice is hereby given by West Dorset District Council ("the Council") that, with effect from 13th June 2016, under Schedules 8 and 10 of The Traffic Management Act 2004 ("the Act of 2004"), the whole of the Council's area will be designated as a civil enforcement area for parking contraventions and as a special enforcement area. As of that date parking enforcement on those car parks operated by the Council will be carried out under the Act of 2004's regulatory framework, the same regulations as apply in respect of on-street parking enforcement within that area.
Parking contraventions are subject to either a higher level or a lower level penalty charge, in accordance with national guidelines. Under Part 3 of Schedule 9 to the Act of 2004 and in accordance with guidelines given by The Secretary of State for Transport in The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (Guidelines on Levels of Charges) (England) Order 2007, the Council have set and hereby publish the following levels of penalty charges which will come into effect on 13th June 2016 (these levels of penalty charges will apply in respect of parking contraventions on all car parks operated by theCouncil and arethesamelevelsascurrentlyapplyin respectof on-street parking contraventions in West Dorset);
