ORDER 2021 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1) Notice is hereby given that the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order - To temporarily prohibit entry into the Southbound carriageway of Queensway Underpass

The closures/suspensions are scheduled to take place from 20th April 2021 to 30th April 2021 excluding the weekend between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The dosuresfsuspensions will be signed in advance of the works commencing and diversion routes will also be signed on site, directing traffic along the slip road to Porters Grange Roundabout across the roundabout re-joining Queensway at the end of the underpass. Northbound traffic will not be affected by the closure. The Order will come into effect on 19th April 2021 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. The closures/suspensions are required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst the highway inspection works are undertaken on the southbound section of the underpass. The prohibitions or suspensions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS 2016.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any prohibition/ suspension imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
