Temporary Closure of Harry Lodges Lane, Gillingham
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Harry Lodges Lane, Gillingham from the junction with Langham Lane to a point approximately 250 metres to the south (in both directions). The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It came into operation on 7th April 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 April 2021. This Order will enable Wessex Water to to install a new water main and associated connections.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath 32, Shaftesbury

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along the footpath between the A350 and Kingsettle Wood for a distance of approximately 200 metres. The order is needed to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It came into operation on 5 April 2021 and will be in place for a period of 26 weeks initially. But it can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, whilst the construction site is active. This closure is required to allow grounding of overhead cables in the area.
