(C113 LEASINGTHORNE ROAD, C129 COUNDON CREM ROAD & UNC 42.9 OLD ELDON ROAD, OFF A689 LEASINGTHORNE ROUNDABOUT) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2016
The Council, on 20 May 2016 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic the following roads from their junctions with A689 Leasingthorne Roundabout: 1) a 580m length of C113 Leasingthorne Road that extends northwards from the roundabout; 2) a 675m length of C129 that extends westerly between the roundabout and Leeholme Road/Osborne Terrace, Coundon; and 3) a 850m length of U42.9 Old Eldon road that extends southwards from the roundabout to the access to Windlestone Grange to enable the carriageway resurfacing works of A689 Leasingthorne Roundabout (with additional traffic lights) be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required between 8pm and 6am per night from Saturday 4 June 2016 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 9 nights. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Alternative route: 1) Easterly to Rushyford then north on A167 to Chilton and westerly on C36 to Kirk Merrington to the junction with C113 to the northern side of the closure, and vice versa; 2) Westerly to A688 Coundongate Roundabout then north easterly on B6287 to Coundon to the junction with C129 Collingwood Street to the western side of the closure, and vice versa; and 3) Easterly toward Rushyford and turning southerly on C35 Middridge Road then westerly on C34 Moor Lane to Old Eldon to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa.
