THE A12 TRUNK ROAD (JUNCTION 28, SEVERALLS INTERCHANGE, COLCHESTER, ESSEX) SLIP ROADS [TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited(a) has made an Order on the A12 Trunk Road, in the County of Essex to enable local authority works to improve walking and cycling routes to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place overnight (8pm-6am, Monday to Friday) and to last for approximately 4 weeks, starting on or after Tuesday 6 April 2021. The effect of the Order will be to close, at A12 J28, Severalls Interchange, the -
? exit slip road leading from and entry slip road leading to the northbound carriageway -diverting traffic wishing to exit to continue northbound to J29 Crown Interchange,

then via the A1232 Ipswich Road, Severalls Lane and Axial Way back to J28; vice versa for traffic wishing to enter the northbound carriageway to J29, and
? exit slip road leading from the southbound carriageway - diverting traffic to continue southbound to J26 then return northbound to J28 and continue their journey.

The closures (which will not apply to works, winter maintenance, emergency service or traffic officer vehicles) and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. The Order will come into force on 5 April 2021 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
