Temporary Closure of Public Footpath N64/45, Gillingham
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horses and cycles will be prohibited from proceeding along part of Public Footpath N64/45, Gillingham between Barnaby Mead and Bay Lane, an overall distance of approximately 100 metres. The order is needed to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 10th March 2021 for a period of 26 weeks initially. But can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
This closure is required for safety reasons for the general public whilst construction works commence on a new development inline with planning application number 2/2019/1649/REM.
