Temporary Closure of New Road, Gillingham
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along New Road Gillingham from the junction with B3081 Newbury to the junction with Cole Street Lane (in both directions), a distance of approximately 1110 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 8 March 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 20 March 2021.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
Parking restrictions, indicated by signs on site, will be imposed to prevent waiting or parking on the highway or verge. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Overnight Temporary Closure of Various Streets in Gillingham
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Streets as listed:
[i] Newbury from the junction with Le Neubourg Way to the junction with High Street;
[ii] High Street from the junction with Newbury to the junction with St Martin's Square;
[iii] St Martin's Square from the junction with High Street to Turners Lane;
[iv] Turners Lane from St Martin's Square to Le Neubourg Way. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation at 19:00 on 15 March 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 2 April 2021 at 06:00. The road will be open during the day and also over the weekend.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath N64/45, Gillingham
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horses and cycles will be prohibited from proceeding along part of Public Footpath N64/45, Gillingham between Barnaby Mead and Bay Lane, an overall distance of approximately 100 metres.
The order is needed to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 10 March 2021 for a period of 26 weeks initially. But can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. This closure is required for safety reasons for the general public whilst construction works commence on a new development inline with planning application number 2/2019/1649/REM
