Notice ID: MFN0597663
A13 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR ORSETT) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A13 Trunk Road in the County of Essex and the Unitary Authority of Thurrock, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are continuing to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise the periodic closure (details below) of:-
a) the eastbound carriageway of the A13 between Baker Street (A1089) and Orsett Cock (A128/A1013) Interchanges; and
b) the road leading from the northbound carriageway of the A1089 to the carriageway described in a) above.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors working on behalf of Thurrock Council undertake a road widening scheme.
It is expected that the work would last for approximately 6 months starting on or after Friday 2nd April 2021. Overnight closures would take place between 20:00 and 05:00 (maximum period), but there are scheduled weekend closures and others to be confirmed - please visit Thurrock Council's website for details - for bridge removal, demolition and replacement. The Order would come into force on 2nd April 2021 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted as follows:
1) A13 eastbound traffic would be diverted onto the A1089 southbound to Marshfoot Interchange (A126), A1089 northbound, A13 westbound to M25 junction 30, M25 anti-clockwise to junction 29, A127 eastbound, A128 southbound to Orsett Cock Roundabout;
2) traffic affected by the closure of the link road would be diverted onto the A13 westbound to join the diversion in 1) above; and
3) a separate diversion route for non-motorway traffic would be signed locally within the borough of Thurrock.
The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
