M11 MOTORWAY, NEAR LOUGHTON TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the M11 Motorway in the County of Essex, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
This forms an extension of Temporary Notice HE/2021/E95 (which it thereby replaces) as permitted by The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992, Regulation 7.
The effect of the Order is to authorise the 24-hour closure of the hard shoulder adjacent to the northbound carriageway of the M11, between points 2580 metres and 3150 metres north-east of the centreline of Junction 5 (A1168/Chigwell Lane) underbridge. This measure is in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake the stabilisation of the embankment and barriers, and all associated work.
The work will continue from the existing emergency measure, but it is unknown how long the work will last and may exceed the maximum of 18 months for a standard order. The Order will come into force on 24 February 2021 and continue until the completion of the works, at which time in compliance with Section 15(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 it will be officially revoked by order.
The temporary closure will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when it is in operation during the works period.
