Public Path Diversion Order 2020
On 15 January 2021 Dorset Council confirmed the above order.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert part of Footpath 69, Swanage as shown on the order map as follows:
From the current route:
That length and the whole width of Footpath 69, Swanage, running from SZ 01219 78621, in a south-westerly direction for 17 metres to SZ 01202 78620.
To a new route:
A length of public footpath at a width of 2 metres and a compacted stone surface running from SZ 01219 78621, in a south-south-westerly direction for 9 metres to SZ 01215 78613, then continuing in a north-westerly direction for 15 metres to SZ 0120278620.

If any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order. He or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to the Act. Temporary Closure of Wills Road, Swanage
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along WILLS ROAD, SWANAGE between Steer Road and Priest's Road (in both directions), a distance of approximately 65 metres. The order is needed to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on Monday 8 February 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 5 March 2021. This Order will enable JDT Utilities, agents for SGN, safe access to undertake major gas mains replacement works.
Alternative vehicular routes will be signed using Cow Lane, High Street and Steer Road.
