The Council has made The Buckinghamshire Council (Public Footpath No. 9, Amersham) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2021 under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will temporarily prohibit any person from proceeding, except for access, in that length of Public Footpath No. 9, Amersham, from Longwood Lane to Stanley Hill Avenue. The closure is required whilst works to install a new high voltage electrical cable take place commencing on 11 January 2021 for 40 days. The alternative route for pedestrians affected by the closure will be via Longwood Lane, Hundred Acres Lane, Acres End and Stanley Hill Avenue and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 11 January 2021, as signed, with a maximum duration of 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the soonest.
