Notice ID: WAR1930569

Notice effective from
5th January 2021 to 4th February 2021

Axia Learning Alliance: Statutory Notice Notice is hereby given in accordance with section 19(3) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that the Governing Bodies of Lostock Hall Community Primary School, Penwortham Broad Oak Primary School and Tarleton Community Primary School intend to make a prescribed alteration to;
* Lostock Hall Community Primary School which is a Community School located at Linden Drive, Lostock Hall, Preston, Lancashire, PR5 5AS;
*Penwortham Broad Oak Primary School which is a Community School located at Pope Lane, Penwortham, Preston, Lancashire, PR1 9DE; and
* Tarleton Community Primary School which is a Community School located at Hesketh Lane, Tarleton, Preston, Lancashire, PR4 6AT
The proposed alteration is to change the schools' category from Community to Foundation and together with one or more of the partners to acquire a trust established otherwise than under the School Standards and Framework Act 1998. The name of the Trust is the Axia Learning Alliance and the proposed implementation date is 1 April 2021. The Trust does not already act as a foundation for any foundation or voluntary school. The proposed members of the trust are: Bamber Bridge St Aidan's CE Primary School (2 trustees) New Longton All Saints' C of E Primary School (2 trustees) The Co-operative Movement, represented by the Co-operative College (1 Trustee) and Lostock Hall Community Primary School, Penwortham Broad Oak Primary and Tarleton Community Primary School will also each appoint 3 trustees. The Trust has a Stakeholder Forum composed of members, which has appointed 2 of the Trust's trustees. All parents/carers and learners attending a Trust school are eligible to become members of the Trust. This is also true of all members of staff employed by Trust schools and members of a range of community organisations supporting the work of the Trust. Family members of our pupils and past pupils as well as individuals living or working locally who identify with what the trust is seeking to achieve can also join the Trust. It is proposed to establish a Trust Forum whose members, including parents, staff, learners and representatives of the community both organisations and individuals - are elected from the respective membership constituency. The purpose of the Trust Forum will be to hold the Trust to account, to help shape policies and to appoint a minority of trustees. As the Trust develops the Trust will welcome other schools joining the Trust. The rationale for acquiring the Trust, the contribution it will make, and the direction it will provide to the schools can be summarised as: The Trust will work to give all stakeholders in the community every opportunity to benefit from the shared knowledge, practices and skills of the Trust partners by developing a community-based approach to learning. The vision for the proposed Trust is of a strong family of inspiring schools that serve our local community and contribute fully to the provision of education in the area and collaborate with other partners to achieve common goals. 'Collaboration, Innovation, Community'
To achieve our vision, we will:
* Continue to develop our child focused, high quality teaching
* Provide a relevant and exciting curriculum~
* Teach our pupils to be good citizens
* Develop lifelong learners Ensure we meet the need of our individual communities
The values and ethical principles of the Co-operative Movement, especially the ideals of self -help and social responsibility, as well as active membership, will underpin the work of the schools and the Trust.
