SOUTHEND-ON-SEA BOROUGH COUNCIL
(WESTERN ESPLANADE SOUTHEND-ON-SEA) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ENTRY)
ORDER 2020 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984-SECTION 14(1) Notice is hereby given that the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 
Effect of the order to temporarily close the section of the eastbound carriageway of Western Esplanade from its junction with Chalkwell Avenue to its junction with Marine Parade/ Pier Mill.
The closures are scheduled to commence from
17th December 2020 for 2 days(s) or where appropriate signs
are showing and weather permitting. Whilst the works take
place a diversion route will be signed on site from
Chalkwell Avenue via First Avenue, Crowstone Avenue,
Station Road, Westcliff Avenue, Cambridge Road,
Scratton Road, Clarence Road, Alexandra Street,
Heygate Avenue, Church Road, Chancellor Road, A1160
Queensway and Southchurch Avenue. Residents and
Business Access will be maintained.
The Order will come into effect on 14th December 2020 and
may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have
been completed, whichever is the earlier.
The closure is required for the removal of a crane on site for
works at the "former Esplanade PH".
The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time
and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the
TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS
2016
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
