Temporary Traffic Management Order of Alington Street & High West Street, Dorchester

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along ALINGTON STREET, DORCHESTER and prohibited from parking on HIGH WEST STREET. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 30 November 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months, however H Is anticipated that the works will be completed by 18 December 2020. This Order will enable SGN, safe access to carry out gas mains replacement.
The following temporary restrictions will be in place as indicated by signs on site;
[1] To impose road closure on Alington Street from its junction with High West Street for a distance of 30 metres.
[2] To impose parking suspension on High West Street, between nos. 48 & 56 to facilitate temporary traffic signals.
An alternative route will be signed using: High West Street -Albert Road - Princes Street.

Notice of Application to Stop Up Highway at Williams Avenue, Dorchester, Dorset

At 2:00pm on 21 January 2021 the Council as Highway Authority for the County of Dorset intends to apply to the Dorset Magistrates' Court sitting at Weymouth Magistrates' Court, the Law Courts, Westway Road, Weymouth, Dorset, DT4 8BS for an application under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of this Order, if made, will be to stop up public highway rights over a section of highway at Williams Avenue, Dorchester, Dorset. Due to the current Covid-19 situation, it is not possible for Dorset Council to have documents on deposit for people to view at County Hall. The County of Dorset (Various Roads, Toller Porcorum) (30 mph Speed Limit) (No.3) Order 2020 Dorset Council has made an Order under Sections 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
When the Order comes into operation on 4 December 2020 the effect of the Order will be to introduce a 30mph speed limit on following lengths of road in Toller Porcorum:-
¦ High Street, from a point approximately 15 metres south of Bracken House north-eastward to its junction with Kingcombe Road.
¦ Lower Road, from its junction with Kingcombe Road eastward to the bridge over the River Hooke.
¦ Toller Road from the Bridge over the River Hooke eastward, for a distance of approximately 30 metres.
¦ School Lane, from its junction with High Street northward to its junction with Church Mead.
¦Kingcombe Road, from its junction with High Street northward to point approximately 45 metres north-westward of its junction with Pope's Hill.
¦ Frogmore Lane, from its junction with High Street southward and eastward to the entrance to Frogmore Farm. Temporary Closure of C80, Bovington
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along the C80, Bovington, between its junction at Clouds Hill and the staggered crossroads on the C6 (in both directions), a distance of approximately 2,000 metres. The Order is needed to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on Friday 11 December 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months. However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 18 December 2020. The road will be closed between 09.00hrs and 16.00hrs, weekdays only. It will be open outside of these times and also over the weekend. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
