ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER - Madeira Drive
1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect-fa) Temporary one-way eastbound traffic on Madeira Drive, from its junction with Aquarium roundabout to approx. outside Concorde 2.
(b) In so far any provisions of this Order conflicts with a provision which is contained in an Order made or having effect as it made under the Act, and existing when this Order comes into operation, and which imposes a restriction prohibition on movement by vehicles or grant an exemption from such restriction or prohibition, the provisions of the East Sussex Act 1981 that apply to Madeira Drive in which case the provisions of the East Sussex Act 1981 shall prevail.

2. The Order is necessary to maintain public safety in relation to Covid-19 Pedestrian access will be maintained. Disabled parking and motorcycle bays within this area are not affected. Parking places east of Concorde 2 are not affected. The alternative route for westbound vehicular traffic will be via A259, Aquarium Roundabout

3. This Order comes into force on 28th November 2020 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed.
