SOUTHEND-ON-SEA BOROUGH COUNCIL
(WESTERN ESPLANADE SOUTHEND-ON-SEA) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ENTRY)
ORDER 2020 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1) Notice is hereby given that the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order to temporarily close the section of the southern carriageway, cycleway and southern footway on Western Esplanade from the pedestrian crossing east of 'Gentings Casino' for a distance of approximately 120m, in a generally western direction. The closures are scheduled to commence from 24th November 2020 for one day or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. Whilst the works take place a contra-flow will be put in place to allow the flow of traffic along Western Esplanade; cyclists will be directed dismount and join the pedestrian diversion route provided.
The Order will come into effect on 23rd November 2020 and
may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have
been completed, whichever is the earlier.
The closure is required for the positioning of a crane on site for
works at the "Gentings Casino".
The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time
and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the
TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice ana removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004
