Notice ID: MFN0585477
AZ7 TRUNK ROAD (VARIOUS LOCATIONS, BRIGHTON)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A27 Trunk Road in the County of West Sussex, and the Unitary Authority of the City of Brighton and Hove, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order is to authorise the phased overnight closure of:-
a) the road leading from the westbound carriageway of the A27 at Devil's Dyke Interchange (A2038); and
b) the southbound carriageway of the link between Vale Avenue and the A27 spur road, Brighton;
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake the replacement of road signs to comply with current standards.
The work is part of a project extending from west of Chichester to Polegate and is expected to last for approximately 4 months starting on or after Friday 27th November 2020. Details of when and where the restrictions will apply will be found on the Highways England website. The overnight closures will take place between 20:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). Work may also occur under lane closures and temporary traffic lights.
The Order will come into force on 25 November 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using other junctions on the A27 and by using the A23, Old London Road, Ladies Mile Road, and Mackie Avenue. The diversion in operation will vary according to the closure in force.
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
