LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(11 VALLEY GARDENS. COLLIERS WOOD (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC)  NO. 21 ORDER 2020
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate new water service connection works in Valley Gardens, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:-

(a) enter or proceed in Valley Gardens, between a point 22 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb-line of High Street, Colliers Wood and the bollards at the short section of Valley Gardens closed to motorised traffic; or

(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the length of Valley Gardens, specified in sub­paragraph 2(a) above.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of Valley Gardens specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above will be suspended for the duration of the works.

4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Nothing in the Order will apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

6. The length of Valley Gardens specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above is a cul-de-sac for motorised vehicles. Cyclists should dismount and continue on foot using the adjacent footway.

7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

8. The Order will come into operation on Monday 23rd November 2020 and will remain in force for 12 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within 3 months.

LINGFIELD ROAD. WIMBLEDON (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate new water connection and associated works in Lingfield Road, Wimbledon, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works no person would cause or permit any vehicle to:-

(a) enter or proceed in Lingfield Road, from a point 5 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 41 and 42 Lingfield Road to a point 5 metres north-west of the common boundary of Nos. 42 and 43 Lingfield Road; or

(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the length of Lingfield Road specified in paragraph 2(a) above.

3. During the works the one-way working in Lingfield Road would be suspended.

4. Any designated parking place, situated in the length of Lingfield Road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above would be suspended for the duration of the works in that road or that length of road.

5. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

6. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference.

9. The Order would come into force on Tuesday 8th December 2020 and it is expected that the works would be completed by 7th March 2021. However, the Order would remain in force for a period of 12 months should further works be required.

(LEONARD AVENUE AND THE DRIVE. MORDEN) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020
1. The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice, that to facilitate gas main replacement works in Leonard Avenue, Morden, at its junction with The Drive, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said roads.

2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle tec-fa) enter or proceed in Leonard Avenue, from its junction with The Drive to a point 25 metres west of the said junction;

(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in:-

(i) The Drive, the west side, from a point 12 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Leonard Avenue to a point 12 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Leonard Avenue; or;

(ii) the length of Leonard Avenue specified in paragraph 2(a) above.

3. The restrictions will apply only during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. Any vehicle in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and the Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

5. During the works vehicular traffic should proceed via:-

(a) The Drive, Victory Avenue and Ravensbury Avenue or vice-versa; or

(b) The Drive, Florence Avenue and Ravensbury Avenue or vice versa.

6. Nothing in the Order will apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions at the time of any emergency; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or lengths of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

7. The Order will come into force on Monday 16th November 2020 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31st December 2020. However, the Order will remain in force for 12 months should further works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTIONS 14(1) and 14(7) LONDON ROAD. MITCHAM (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate highway works in London Road, Mitcham, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in the said road.

2. During the works:-

(a) no person would cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading, in London Road, Mitcham, between a point 75 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Dennis Reeve Close and a point 75 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Dennis Reeve Close; and

(b) the southbound bus lane in London Road, the east side, would be suspended in the length of London Road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above.

3. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

4. The restrictions and suspensions would apply only during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Vehicular traffic affected by the works would travel southbound using the suspended length of bus lane.

6. Nothing in the Order would apply to:-

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions at the time of any emergency.
7. The Order would come into operation on Friday 20 November 2020 with the works currently anticipated to be carried out over 1 day. However, the Order would remain in force for a maximum period of one month and its provisions would be re-introduced during that period should the works be delayed or further works be required.
