ONE-WAY WORKING/NO ENTRY TO TRAFFIC (EXCEPT FOR CYCLISTS)
The Waltham Forest (Prescribed Routes) (Forest Rising No. 1) Traffic Order 2020
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Waltham Forest (the Council) on 22ND October 2020 made the above-mentioned Traffic Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to continue indefinitely the provisions of The Waltham Forest (Prescribed Routes) (Forest Rising No. 1) Experimental Traffic Order 2019 which by way of an experiment:

(a) in Oakhurst Gardens E17 prevented motor vehicles entering (except cycles) a section of that said road prohibited by a no-entry sign plate situated 12 metres south-west of the westernmost entry/exit gate (western edge of gate) to Forest School (situated in Oakhurst Gardens);

(b) in Forest Rise E17 (the section east of Woodford New Road)

1. prohibited motor vehicles (except cycles) from proceeding at any time in any direction other than from north-east to south-west; and

2. prevented motor vehicles entering (except cyclists) Forest Rise E17 (the section east of Woodford New Road) where entry to that road is prohibited by a no-entry sign plate situated at its junction with Woodford New Road;

(c) in The Forest E11 (between the northern kerb line of Buxton Drive and Oakhurst Gardens)

1. prohibited motor vehicles (except cyclists) from proceeding at any time in any direction other than from south-east to north­west; and

2. prevented motor vehicles entering (except cyclists) The Forest E11 where entry to that road is prohibited by a no-entry sign plate situated at its junction with Oakhurst Gardens.

More specific details of the above-mentioned provisions are contained in the notice of making of the original experimental traffic order as advertised in Waltham Forest News issue 221 dated 18* February 2019.
3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 22nd October 2020 and all other relevant documents can be inspected on request by emailing

traffic.scheme@walthamforest.gov.uk

during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from that date.

4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the making of the Order, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
