Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) and Regulation 3 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992 (SI 1992/1215).
THE BOROUGH OF READING (WELDALE STREET. READING) (TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020
Reading Borough Council gives notice it proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 and any other enabling powers over an area of the highway being a development site between Weldale Street and Chatham Street.
The Order is needed to carry out surface water connection and construct a new manhole.
If the Order is made, the Order shall come into operation on 5 November 2020 for a period from 9 November 2020 until 20 November 2020. In the event, that the works take longer than expected, the Order will remain in operation for 18 months.
The Order will: Suspend the pay and display parking arrangements specified under Schedule 607 of the (Pay and Display)(Expansion) (Civil Enforcement Area) Order 2020 which came into effect on 28 February 2020 and permitted pay and display on street parking places during permitted hours and introduce no waiting/no loading at any time restriction on both sides of the carriageway on Weldale Street from its junction with North Street to outside number 7.
