PARISH OF PURITON Temporary Closure of Part of Footpath BW 28/2 order 2019
TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992 The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of his powers under section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has approved an extension to the above Order for a period of six months from 14 October 2020 to 14 July 2021. The original Order came into effect on 14 October 2019 due to the likelihood of danger to the public whilst a new road and bridge are being constructed. The Order PROHIBITS ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along Footpath BW 28/2 from its junction with Footpath BW 28/2A near Puriton Park for approximately 445 metres in a south easterly and then southerly direction to its junction with bridleway BW 28/1.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE Whilst the closure is in place an alternative route will be available running to the west and then south along Hillside before turning to the east along Restricted Byway BW 28/11.
