(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2020
The Council on 11/9/2020 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 35m of Cross Hill (adj no.19) from its junc A689 Front St, Stanhope to enable new water service connection works to be undertaken. An alt route will be available to vehicular traffic locally via A689 and Cross St. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 21/9/2020 and are anticipated to be completed in 5 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
(UNC 34.10 QUARRYBURN LANE/WEST END. HUNWICK
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2020
The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 730m of West End, Hunwick between its junctions with B6286 Front St/Wear Vw and Bracken Hill Rd to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. An alt route will be available to vehicular traffic from the eastern side of the closure from B6286 a. north then west on Bracken Hill Rd b. south/south west on B6286, north west on Unc 34.11 then north on Unc 34.9 to Quarryburn Rd to the western side of the closure, & vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence at 7am on 5/10/2020 & for the duration of the works anticipated to be 5 days (7am to 7pm per day). On occasions, alt dates for closure may be necessary & these will be signed accordingly.
(C95 WHITWORTH ROAD. SPENNYMOOR)
(SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2019
The Council on 11/9/2020 made an Order under Sections 82, 83 & 84 and part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 "the Act"), as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 30/9/2020 and is to introduce on the C95 Whitworth Road, Spennymoor: (A) 30mph speed limit from a point 14m north of its junction with Page Grove north westerly for 5m; and (B) 40mph speed limit from a point 19m north of its junction with Page Grove north westerly for 1.135m. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by "the Act", as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 18/9/2020 apply to make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
