Highways Act 1980 Public Path Diversion Order 2020 Footpath 10 Copford
On 19 August 2020 Essex County Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the order as confirmed as shown on the order map is to divert a part length of Footpath 10 Copford commencing from a point west of St Michael & All Angels Church, at grid reference 59344,22268 and running In a generally north norm westerly direction to the west of Copford Hall for a distance of 140 metres to grid reference 59339,22281, will be diverted to a new route starting from the same above point and running In a west south westerly direction on the north side of the cricket field for a distance of 117 metres to grid reference 59333,22264 where it connects to the highway at the T-junction between Church Road and Aldercar Road.

The alternative route came into force on 16 September 2020, and the old route shall be stopped up with effect from 23 September 2020, but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 17 September 2020 make an application to the High Court.
Highways Act 1980 - Section 25 Public Footpath Creation Agreement Parish of Copford, Borough of Colchester
By an Agreement dated 19 August 2020 two new public footpaths have been created being two metres in width over and along all that strip of land situated in the Parish of Copford in the Borough of Colchester as follows:
(1) commencing at a point where it connects to the highway known as Aldercar Road running in an east north easterly direction through the wooded area for a total distance of approximately 145 metres to a point where it connects to Footpath 10 Copford and
(2) commencing at a point where it connects to the diverted route of Footpath 10 Copford running in an east north easterly direction across the field and driveway for a total distance of approximately 19 metres to a point where it connects to the gate to
St Michael and All Angels Church.

Nothing in the Order shall apply to any emergency vehicles. The Order will come into operation on 28th September 2020 and will remain in force for a period of up to 18 months.
