Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981
Northumberland County Council Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights Of Way for the County of Northumberland Definitive Map Modification Order (No 14) 2018
The above Order, made on 22nd October 2018, was confirmed on 21st August 2020 and will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by:-
Former Tynedale District
Restricted Byway No 68 (Parish of Haydon)
Adding thereto, a restricted byway, from the U8057 road 160 metres north-east of , (Grid Reference NY 8779 6355) in a northerly direction for a distance of 665 metres to join the C284 road 125 metres south-east of Lowes Fell Farm. (GR NY 8798 6419).
Restricted Byway No 69 (Parish of Haydon)
Adding thereto, a restricted byway, from the C284 road 125 metres east of Lowes Fell Farm, (GR NY 8799 6420) in a general north-easterly direction for a distance of 2335 metres to join alleged Restricted Byway No 70, 480 metres north-west of Coastley. (GR NY 8951 6569).
Restricted Byway No 70 (Parish of Haydon)
Adding thereto, a restricted byway, from the U8059 road 80 metres southwest of Coastley, (GR NY 8989 6543) in a northerly, westerly, northerly, north-westerly and easterly direction for a distance of 1045 metres to join the A69 Trunk road 30 metres east of Railway Cottage. (GR NY 8933 6610). Restricted Byway No 71 (Parish of Haydon)
Upgrading thereto, to restricted byway status, part of Public Bridleway No 42 from the A69 Trunk road immediately south of Greenshaw House (GR NY 8940 6609) in a north-easterly and easterly direction for a distance of 250 metres to a point immediately south of number 1 Common House. (GR NY 8965 6620).
The Order also makes an administrative amendment to the Definitive Statement of existing Public Bridleway No 42 as a consequence of being part upgraded to restricted byway status and also correcting an error where the section from Common Cottages to Burnfoot described as being in a 'southwesterly' direction should be in a 'south-easterly' direction.
A copy of the Confirmed Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of the Legal Services Manager, County Hall, Morpeth, NE61 2EF during normal working hours. The Order became operative on 21st August 2020 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that any regulation has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may within six weeks from 10th September 2020 make an application to the High Court for that purpose.
