A12 CHELMSFORD TO A120 ROAD WIDENING

We have now announced our preferred route for the A12 Chelmsford to A120 road improvements between junctions 23 and 25.

Highways England (HE) Company Limited of Bridge House, 1 Walnut Tree Close, Guildford, GU1 4LZ has made a Preferred Route Announcement in August 2020 confirming their plans for the second section of the A 12 Chelmsford to A 120 widening scheme, from junction 23 (Kelvedon south) to junction 25 (Marks Tey interchange). This option provides a bypass between junctions 24 and 25.

The preferred route for the first section of the scheme between junctions 19 (Chelmsford) and 23 (Kelvedon) was announced in October 2019. With this announcement, we now have a preferred route for the whole scheme, from junctions 19 to 25. This is route 2 from our 2017 consultation.

We will prepare and submit one development consent order application which covers both sections of the road improvements.
