Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: A338 (Part) Downton Road, Salisbury; from its junction with A345 Coombe Road to its junction with Lower Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing, road markings, adjustment of ironworks and associated works. Alternative route: via A338 (unaffected length) - A31 - A350 - A354 and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 03 September 2020 and the closure will be required until 25 September 2020. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The above order, made on 29th July 2020, under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, will divert the public footpath at Blaxwell Farm, Whiteparish from OS Grid Reference SU 2501 2343, leading in a broadly westerly direction for approximately 130 metres to SU 2488 2342 with a width of 1.2 metres to a new route at OS Grid Reference SU 2502 2348 leading in a broadly westerly direction to SU 2487 2346 and then in a south, south easterly direction to SU 2488 2342 for approximately a total of 198 metres with a width of 3 metres. The Salisbury and Wilton Rural District Council Area Definitive Map and Statement dated 1953 shall be modified accordingly.
