a) the eastbound carriageway of the A27 between Devil's Dyke Interchange (A2038) and Hollingbury Interchange (Carden Avenue);
b) the southbound carriageway of the A23 between its divergence from the fast link leading to the A27 and Mill Lane Roundabout;
c) both carriageways of the spur road between the southern roundabout of the A27 dumbbell and Mill Lane Roundabout at Patcham Interchange (A23/A27);
d) all the roads leading to and from the carriageway described in a) above, including the link to the northbound carriageway of the A23;
e) the road leading to the westbound carriageway of the A27 at Patcham Interchange (A23);
f) the fast link connecting to the A27 westbound entry slip from the eastbound carriageway of the A27 spur road at Patcham Interchange (A23);
g) the road connecting from the coast-bound carriageway of the A23 to the eastbound carriageway of the A27 spur road at Patcham Interchange (A27); and
h) Vale Avenue at junction with the westbound carriageway of the A27 spur road.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake resurfacing, road marking, stud and traffic loop renewal, and all associated works.
It is expected that the work would last for approximately 5 weeks starting on or after Monday 17th August 2020. The overnight closures would take place between 20:00 and 06:00 (maximum period).
The Order would come into force on 15 August 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using other junctions on the A23 and A27, and by using the B2117, Devil's Dyke Road, Saddlescombe Road, Preston Drove, Surrenden Road, Braybon Avenue, and Carden Avenue. Access under escort would be maintained to access/leave property.
The diversion in operation would vary according to the closure in force.
The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
