M25 MOTORWAY – JUNCTIONS 26- 27 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the M25 Motorway in the County of Essex, under Section 14(1)
(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. T
he effect of the Order is:-
1) to authorise the overnight closure of;
a) the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between Junction 26 (A121) and Junction 27 (M11 Junction 27);
b) the slip road leading to the carriageway in a) above at Junction 26 (A121); and
c) the roads connecting from the carriageway in a) above to the M11 at Junction 27 (M11 Junction 6); and
2) to impose a mandatory 50 mph or 60 mph (according to working conditions) speed restriction on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between a point 638 metres east of the centreline of Honey Lane underbridge and a point 2180 metres east of the centreline of Crown Hill underbridge.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake the construction of an Emergency Refuge Area. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 5 months starting on or after Thursday 6th August 2020. The work will take place behind an inside lane closure; the overnight closures will take place between 22.30 and 05:30 (maximum period) at the start and completion of the work only, to install and remove the temporary barrier. The Order will come into force on 4 August 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted via the A121, A104, A1199, A406 and M11. The temporary closures, speed restrictions, and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
