Temporary Closure of Marine Parade (Cart Road), Lyme Regis
(Covid-19 Distancing Measures)
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along MARINE PARADE (LOCALLY KNOWN AS CART ROAD), LYME REGIS between Cobb Gate Car Park and The Bay Apartments, a distance of approximately 220 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 24 July 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary.
The Order will enable Dorset Council to ensure social distancing measures for pedestrians and businesses can be implemented safely. On this occasion there will be no alternative route.

Temporary Closure of Norway Lane, Stoke Abbott
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along NORWAY LANE, STOKE ABBOTT between Mount Cottage and Rose Cottage, a distance of approximately 450 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 24 June 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary. This Order will enable Dorset Council to manage the clearance of fallen trees acrossthe highway.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath No 17, Symondsbury
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath No 17, from grid reference SY 460 920 to grid reference SY 461 921, a distance of approximately 80 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 24 July 2020, for a period of 26 weeks. But it may be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. The order is required to allow a building development to take place. There will be a locally signed diversion in place.
