TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 6th day of November 2014 continuing in force the restrictions in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the said date in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order respect of each of the locations numbered (2), (3) and (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (5), (6), (7), (8), (9), ( 10) and (11).

(1) MELROSEGATE & GREEN DYKES LANE, YORK

This Order continues in force The York (Melrosegate & Green Dykes Lane) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2014 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on 7th November 2014. This is necessary to ensure that carriageway resurfacing works can be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of {i) Melrosegate, York between its junction with Hull Road and the northern property boundary of No. 240 Melrosegate, York (ii} Green Dykes Lane, York between its junctions with Hull Road and Devon Place (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 8th day of November 2014 and ending at 2400hrs on the 21st day of  November 2014 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect, between 1900hrs and 2300hrs on each day during the closure period. During the closure period vehicle movements on Hull Road will be controlled by two-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via: (i) Hull Road, Tang Hall Lane, Melrosegate and vice versa; (ii ) Lawrence Street, Barbican Road, Heslington Road, Thief Lane and vice versa.

(2) ALBEMARLE ROAD. DALTON TERRACE & SCARCROFT ROAD. YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of{i) A1bemarle Road, York between its junction with The Mount and a point 75 metres south east from the said junction (ii) Dalton Terrace, York between its junction with The Mount and a point 85 metres north west from the said junction and [iii} Scarcroft Road, York between its junction with The Mount and a point 70 metres south from the said junction (closed road) during the period when carriageway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 1900hrs on the 10th day of November 2014 and ending at 2400hrs on the 21st day of November 2014 or on a date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken in two phases and the restrictions will only be put into effect, between 1900hrs and 2300hrs, Monday to Friday during the works period. During the works per iod vehicle movements on The Mount will be controlled by two-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed.

(3) RAILWAY WALK, YORK

This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footway known as Railway Walk between its junctions with The Esplanade and Marygate Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on 10th day of November 2014 and ending at 2400hrs on the 21st day of April 2015 or on a date when nearby Scarborough Bridge reconstruction works being undertaken by crane operations from the closed footpath and adjacent car park have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carr ied out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed.

(4) PARLIAMENT STREET & MARKET STREET, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Parliament Street, York between its junctions with St Sampson's Square and High Ousegate (ii) Market Street, York between its junction with Feasegate and Parliament Street (closed road) during the period when telecommunication works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 1900hrs on the 11th day of November 2014 and ending at 0700hrs on the 12th day of November 2014 or on a date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed.

(5) A1 237, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding in the A1237 York Outer Ring Road between its junctions with Wigginton Road (B1363) and Haxby Road (closed road) during the period commencing at 1900hrs on the 15th day of November 2014 and ending at 0700hrs on the 20th day of January 2015 (works period) or at time when new Haxby Cycleway Bridge installation works being undertaken by crane operations from the closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put in to place, between the following times and dates: 1900hrs on Saturday 15th November 2014 and 0800hrs on Sunday 16th November; 1900hrs on Sunday 16th November 2014 and 0630hrs on Monday 17th November; 1900hrs on Monday 17th November 2014 and 0630hrs on Tuesday 18th November. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Wigginton Road, Mill Lane, The Village, York Road, Haxby Road and vice versa.

(6) BOOTHAM. GILLYGATE & ST LEONARD'S, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of (i) Bootham, York between its junctions with Gillygate and Bootham Row (ii) Gillygate, York between its junction with St Leonard' s Place and the northern property boundary of Millers Yard and (iii) St Leonard' s Place, York between its junction with Gillygate and the northern property boundary of No. 9 St Leonard's Place (closed road ) during the period commencing at 1900hrs on the 17th day of November 2014 and ending at 2400hrs on the 27th day of November 2014 (works period) or at time when resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to place during an overni ght period, between 1930hrs and 0500hrs on during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed.

(7) EASTERN TERRACE, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Eastern Terrace, York between its junctions with East Parade and Wood Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 17th day of November 2014 and ending at 2400hrs on the 21st day of November 2014 (works period) or at a time when property maintenance works being undertaken adjacent to the closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed via East Parade, Mill Lane, Heworth Green, rounadabout controlled junction with Heworth Green and Huntington Road, Heworth Green, Cinder Lane, Wood Street and Eastern Terrace.

(8) NAVIGATION ROAD, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Navigation Road, York between its junctions with Walmgate and Speculation Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0700hrs and ending at 1900hrs on the 19th day of November 2014 (works period) or at a time when carriageway repair works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed.

(9) ALDWARK, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Aldwark, York between its junctions with St Saviours Place and Pear Tree Court (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 17th November 2014 and ending at 2400hrs on the 19th day of November 2014 (works period) or at a time when electricity connection works being undertaken to a property adjacent to the closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed via St Saviours Place, Peasholme Green, Jewbury, St Maurice's Road, Goodramgate, Aldwark and vice versa.

(10) BROADWAY AND BROADWAY WALK, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Broadway, York between its junction with Fu1ford Road and a point 120 metres east from the said junction and (ii) Broadway West, York between its junction with Fulford Road and a point 50 metres west from the said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at 1900hrs on the 17th day of November 2014 and ending at 2400hrs on the 26th day of November 2014 (works period) or at a time when carriageway maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the restrictions will only be put in to place effect, between 1900hrs and 2300hrs, Monday to Friday during the works period. During the works period vehicle movements on Fulford Road will be controlled by two-way traffic signals.

(11) FOSS ISLAND CYCLE PATH, YORK

This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of closed cyclepath, known as Foss Island Path between its junctions with Tang Hall Lane and Metcalfe Lane (closed cyclepath) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 17th day of November 2014 and ending at 2400hrs on the lst day of December 2014 (works period) or at time when cyclepath maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the ear lier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for pedestrians and vehicles will be available via signed.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restr ictions.
