(HIGH STREET, STREATLEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2020
West Berkshire District Council has made an Order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over the High Street in Streatley between its junction with Church lane, and the West bank of the Streatley and Goring Bridge.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via A329 Reading Rd, High St (Pangbourne), Whitchurch Rd (B471), B4526 (toward Goring), and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to reinstate the carriageway surface. The proposed Order will come into effect on 13th July 2020. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between the hours of 09.30 to 15.30 on Sunday 27th September 2020. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest The Order shall not take effect until signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 have been erected
