THE A627(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 1-2 NORTHBOUND & SOUTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAYS & SLIP ROADS) [TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A627(M) Motorway, in the Boroughs of Oldham and Rochdale, in the County of Greater Manchester, to enable barrier replacement works and other general maintenance; to be carried out in safety.
a) The Order will impose a 50 mph speed limit on the following sections of the A627(M) Motorway:
i. the northbound carriageway between J1 and J2, from a point 145 metres south of the Chadderton South Roundabout Bridge, to its end point at Chadderton Heights Bridge;
ii. the southbound carriageway between J2 and J1, from the Slattock Link Roundabout South Bridge, to its end point where it becomes the A663;
iii. the northbound entry slip road at J1;
iv. the southbound entry slip road at J2.
b) The Order will ban all traffic on the following sections of the A627(M) Motorway:
i. the northbound carriageway, from the last point at which the J1 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point at which the J1 entry slip road joins the carriageway.;
Ii. the southbound carriageway, from the last point at which the J1 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point at which the J1 entry slip road joins the carriageway;
Iii. the southbound carriageway, between J2 and J1, from the last point at which the J2 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point at which the A663 southbound entry slip road from the A627 Chadderton Roundabout joins the carriageway;
Iv. the northbound and southbound exit and entry slip roads at J1;
v. the southbound entry slip road at J2. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A627(M), and local roads will be well signed.
Restrictions a) are expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 00:01 on Friday 24 July 2020 and ending at 23:59 on Friday 4 September 2020. Prohibitions b) are expected to take place overnight between 21:00 and 05:00 (07:00 on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Friday 24 July 2020 and ending on Friday 4 September 2020. However, works may start and continue during subsequent continuous periods, or on subsequent nights until completed. The restrictions will not apply to emergency services, or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 23 July 2020 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
