(Various Streets, Innerleithen) (Temporary Closing) Order 2020
The Scottish Borders Council (Various Streets, Innerleithen) (Temporary Closing)
Order 2020 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will
come into force at 08:00 on 29 June 2020 and is expected to remain in effect until
18:00 on 9 August 2020 – 24 hour closures. The Order is required for SGN gas
main replacement works.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit
to be driven any vehicle along the following streets in Innerleithen:
(a) Closure 1: at the junction of St Ronan’s Road, George Street and Queen
Street – from 29 June to 19 July 2020. The alternative routes are as follows:
(i) for the Queen Street/George Street closure: for south eastbound traffic
via Queen Street, Horsburgh Street, Montgomery Street and George
Street to the point of closure, for north westbound traffic the reverse
of the foregoing;
(ii) for the St Ronan’s Road closure: for eastbound traffic via George Street,
Ballantyne Street, Plora Avenue, Craig Terrace and St Ronan’s Road to the
point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing;
(b) Closure 2: Horsburgh Street outside number 4 – from 20 July to 26 July 2020.
The alternative route for south eastbound traffic is via Queen Street, George
Street, Chambers Street East and Horsburgh Street to the point of closure,
for north westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and
(c) Closure 3: Horsburgh Street from Pirn Road to Queen Street – from 27 July
to 9 August 2020. The alternative route for south eastbound traffic is via Pirn
Road, Buccleuch Street, Chambers Street and Horsburgh Street to the point
of closure, for north westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

the date of the publication of this notice. Alternatively, representations can
