A27 TRUNK ROAD (PATCHAM INTERCHANGE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A27 Trunk Road in the Unitary Authority of the City of Brighton and Hove, under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order is to authorise the overnight closure of both carriageways of the road crossing the A27 and connecting the north and south roundabouts at Patcham Interchange (A23).
This measure is in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake bridge works joint replacement) and all associated works. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 3 weeks starting on or after Monday 29th June 2020. The overnight closures will take place between 20:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order will come into force on 27 June 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. Traffic wishing to cross the A27 northbound will be diverted westbound on the A27 to Devils Dyke Interchange and return. Traffic wishing to cross the A27 southbound will be diverted eastbound on the A27 to Hollingbury Interchange and return. The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
