THE A419 TRUNK ROAD (CRICKLADE TO LADY LANE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020 NUMBER 2
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A419 trunk road in the County of Wiltshire and the Borough of Swindon to allow civil engineering works, surfacing, road markings, kerbing and drainage alterations, installation of safety fencing and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place overnight (8.00pm - 6.00am), commencing on or after 15 June 2020 and be completed by 3 July 2020.
The effect of the Order would be to close:
(a) the A419 southbound from Cricklade Junction to Lady Lane Junction;

(b) the southbound entry slip road at Cricklade Junction;

(c) the southbound exit slip road at Lady Lane Junction;

(d) the gaps in the central reservation located at Thamesdown Recycling.

During the closure traffic would be diverted via the B4040, B4553, B4534, A4198 and A4311. Access to and from premises that are accessible from and only from the A419 would be maintained during the works.
The closure (which would not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles) would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works period and would only apply when traffic management measures are in place. The Order would come into force on 13 June 2020 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
